Move over, George Clooney, and step aside, Meryl Streep, because there's a new superstar dominating the award season headlines — and his name is Uggie.

Yes, they say that every dog has his day but few of them have days quite this impressive, as Uggie has just achieved a rare double acting nomination, earning nods for Best Dog in a Theatrical Film for his acclaimed roles in both "The Artist" and "Water for Elephants."

We give this one two paws up.

The nominations come courtesy of Dog News Daily, which yesterday announced the nominees of their inaugural Golden Collar Awards, which recognize excellence in film and television... by dogs.

Naturally, Uggie would seem to be a frontrunner for his performance in "The Artist," especially after he stole the show at the Golden Globes on Sunday with some well timed on-stage tricks during the presentation of the Best Film award. But Uggie's fans are already worried that the double nomination, while prestigious, may end up splitting the vote, allowing another canine -- such as Denver, who played Skeletor in "50/50," or "Beginners" star Cosmo-- to sneak away with the prize.

Will voters throw Uggie a bone? Or will one of the other worthy dogs make Uggie their chew toy? You'll have to wait until February 13 for the thrilling results, but for now, you can check out the full list of categories and nominees over at Dog News Daily.

So check it out -- and find out why these dogs are about to turn tinseltown into Hollywoof.
