'Transformers 4' Gets All Explosiony in Faux Hong Kong

China's been ticking American film studios off a lot lately with all their censoring and movie-banning and, the latest, not paying their ticket sales tabs, but this video is not a case of Hollywood striking back. Or maybe it is?

Here's a glimpse at the fiery set of Michael Bay's "Transformers 4," and as is to be expected from any installment to the Autobot/Decepticon war franchise, there are lots of pyrotechnics being employed for good action fare effect. But while all the stuff being destroyed does look an awful lot like the far east, the cityscape behind it is none other than Detroit, Michigan.

The site is meant to replicate the giant city of Hong Kong — a very battered version of it, that is.

A portion of the movie is expected to be filmed in China itself (adding to that reality TV show casting thingymabop), but from the looks of things, Bay's doing quite a bit of the work on the U.S. of A. home front first. 'Merica! (Just kidding.)

Here's a second video of the faux Hong Kong set, by the way, this time featuring some street explosions and screaming pedestrians running around. Must be Tuesday.

"Transformers 4" stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor and T.J. Miller and hits theaters on June 27, 2014.
