Nobody gets tied up by little creatures in comedies co-starring Jason Segel quite like Jack Black.
The funnyman first forayed into bondage at the hands of bantams with 2010's "Gulliver's Travels," and has since become Hollywood's go-to guy for mini-captivity in movies that coincidentally also feature Jason Segel.
In honor of the Jason Segel-starring "The Muppets," Black's latest tangle with entanglement, we count down his all-time greatest roles in which he's tied up by little creatures.
2. 'Gulliver's Travels' (2010)
Sure, it was conceived way back in the yesteryears of the early 18th century, but we all know what Jonathan Swift had in mind when he penned this future English-lit classic: Jack Black in 3-D. The "little guy with big dreams" (really?) goes on the nautical hunt for the Bermuda Triangle, but after falling asleep at the wheel, he wakes up in submission, roped up by the tiny inhabitants of Lilliput (including a weirdly accented Jason Segel). The holiday release was neither a critical darling nor a box office hit, but it laid the groundwork for
many at least one more Jack Black-Tied-Up-By-Little-Creatures role s to come.
1. 'The Muppets' (2011)
Everyone's favorite felt puppets make a mighty return to the big screen in this surefire family smash, with Kermit and company (along with a weirdly over-smiley Jason Segel) plotting a telethon to save their treasured showplace from destruction. But when they can't find a celebrity host, the resolution is obvious: tie up Jack Black and force him to do it. The comedic actor is downright hysterical during his on-stage restraint, all but guaranteeing we'll see Black do more tied-up theatrics for many years to come. Or possibly not.
