The "Harry Potter" cast is definitely all grown up.
First Daniel Radcliffe played a husband/father (and without age makeup!) in "The Woman in Black" and now Tom Felton is going to (gasp!) have sex -- with Sharon Stone, no less -- in the psychosexual thriller, "Attachment," according to ComingSoon.net.
"Attachment" chronicles the hell that breaks loose after a married mother and high school teacher (Stone) has a one night stand with one of her students (Felton), an ill-advised tryst that triggers some psycho behavior in the young lover. Hey, you'd freak out if Draco Malfoy started stalking you, wouldn't you? (Actually, don't answer that question.)
This is great and all, but when will Felton get to play a good guy? Was his ten-year turn as Malfoy so impressionable that the only follow-up roles he can snag are sadistic animal handlers (in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), vengeful ghosts (in the upcoming "Therese Raquin") and creepy stalkers? Someone needs to let this man take a shot at playing the hero -- until then, hey, at least he's working post-"Potter."
"Attachment" is director Tony Kaye's follow-up to "Detachment," another high school drama which is currently on VOD and hits theaters on March 16. Despite their similar titles, one is not a sequel to the other, though they could most certainly be seen as companion pieces.
Stay tuned for news on what lucky lady will score the part of Stone's teenage daughter (who will hopefully have some variation of the line, "You slept with my mother? Gross!"). "Attachment" will commence with production in the next couple of months.
