Life Is Biking on a Highway in 'To Live and Ride in LA' Clip

Angelenos know that in their hometown, there are two immutable facts: traffic sucks and biking, more than just a way to get around, is its own distinct subculture.

"To Live and Ride in LA," a new film by director David Rowe, is the first film to examine the "fixed-gear culture," a group of cyclists specializing in fixed-gear -- read: no brakes -- bikes.

In this exclusive clip from the film -- served here in celebration of Ride Your Bike to Work Week -- fixed-gear rider Mr. Quick, frustrated from the constant traffic, exits his gear, straps on his helmet and flies through the 405 freeway. If you've ever driven in L.A., you will both applaud his temerity and spite his ability to actually move on a freeway.

"To Live and Ride in LA" hits DVD and iTunes June 21.
