Tina Fey is headed back to the office.
The "30 Rock" star will soon be embracing her entrepreneurial spirit as she joins the company of "The Intern," according to Deadline.
"The Intern" will feature Fey as the founder of a fashion-based e-commerce company who participates in a community outreach program in which seniors (as in senior citizens, not college seniors) will intern at the firm. The title character, an over-70 widower, ends up being an indispensable part of the harried working mother's life, both professionally and personally.
The project teams up Fey with writer-director Nancy Meyers, who has an actor in mind for the title role but won't say who it is until he's locked. As Meyers recently directed both "Something's Gotta Give" and "It's Complicated," our guess is it's either Jack Nicholson or Alec Baldwin in age makeup.
Nancy Meyers also recently became attached to direct "The Chelsea," starring Felicity Jones. She'll probably take on that project first, and with Tina Fey's schedule pretty packed for the rest of the year with another season of "30 Rock," don't expect "The Intern" to start shooting until sometime in 2013.
"The Intern" is, of course, not to be confused with "The Internship," the new comedy announced earlier this week that's set to star Owen Wilson (Tina Fey's co-star in the upcoming "Admission") and Vince Vaughn and be directed by Shawn Levy (Fey's "Date Night" director).
