The NAACP Image Awards nominees have been announced and a few companies and films are standing apart from their competitors.

The frontrunner in the movie category is Dreamworks/Touchstone/Participant Media's "The Help," which scored outstanding actress nominations for both Emma Stone and Viola Davis, as well as best picture, writing, and directing.

Following close behind is coming-of-age drama "Pariah," with seven, including nominations for lead actress Adepero Oduye, as well as Charles Parnell and Kim Wayans, who play the young star's parents in the film.

The awards, the nominations for which were announced by a group of performers including Vanessa Williams and Craig Robinson, celebrate the accomplishments of African-Americans in the entertainment industry.

Leading the pack in other categories with 18 nominations is ABC, home to "Modern Family" and "Grey's Anatomy," followed closely by CBS, with 16.

Columbia Records, the home of artists including Adele and Beyonce, grabbed an impressive eight nominations. Warner Brothers earned five nominations, including three for singer/actress Jill Scott.

The awards will be broadcast on Feb. 17 on NBC.
