Stop us if you've heard this one before, but according to Film.com, "Lee Daniels' The Butler" won the box office for the second weekend in a row, as the drama about what goes on behind closed doors at the White House brought in an estimated $17 million.
That was enough to hold off a trio of newcomers, including "The Mortal Instruments" (third place with $9.3 million), "The World's End" (fourth place with $8.9 million) and "You're Next" (seventh place with $7 million).
The good news for all three of those films is that next week's crop of new releases looks even weaker. The bad news? There's a good chance "The Butler" might just do it again.
