Okay, so when we told you that Shia LaBeouf was preparing to have real sex on screen in the upcoming Lars von Trier film "Nymphomanic," you probably thought a) that seems like an interesting way to make a living and b) LaBeouf is maybe taking this a little too far. Method acting is one thing, but rhythm method acting?
Well, it turns out that's just the tip of the iceberg, because, according to MTV, LaBeouf decided to really get into character for the upcoming indie film "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman" by dropping acid for a scene.
"There's a way to do an acid trip like 'Harold & Kumar,' and there's a way to be on acid," LaBeouf explained. "What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that [electric] chair in 'Dead Man Walking.' These are the guys that I look up to."
Of course, Penn didn't actually electrocute himself, so maybe there are still more lessons for LaBeouf to learn. For more on LaBeouf and why he's trippin' balls, head over to MTV for the whole scoop.
