Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum aren't the only funny guys in uniform.

Hot off the highly lucrative opening weekend of "21 Jump Street" comes word of another cop comedy, one being based at Paramount and set to star Hill's pal Seth Rogen, according to Variety.

Rogen will be a boy in blue with his "The 40 Year Old Virgin" buddy Kevin Hart in the untitled period comedy that's set to be written by Rodney Rothman, who also worked with the duo on "Undeclared" back in the day. Rogen, Hart and Evan Goldberg are set to produce the film.

The idea for the project — which deals with history's first (fictional) interracial police partners, who infiltrate the post-World War II jazz scene to investigate a drug ring — has apparently been floating around Rothman's head for years, so the fact that it's officially going into development the Monday after "21 Jump Street" made over $35 million at the box office is probably just a coincidence (yeah, right).

Seth Rogen (who appeared with Jonah Hill in "Superbad," "Knocked Up," "The 40 Year Old Virgin" and "Funny People") will next be seen in "For A Good Time, Call …," opening Sept. 14, and in "The Guilt Trip," opening Nov. 2. Kevin Hart has "Think Like a Man" opening April 20 and "The Five-Year Engagement" opening a week later.

No word on when this period cop comedy will go into production, but it will have to contend with the "21 Jump Street" sequel, which Sony already has on the fast track.
