ScarJo Wanted to Dream That Dream, Anne Hathaway

In another installment of "Les Mean Girl"-ing, actress Scarlett Johansson has taken a little time from her busy Broadway theatrics schedule for "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" to pout over losing the role of Fantine in Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables" to the now-awards heavy Anne Hathaway.

Uh huh, for real. ScarJo declared to Broadway.com that while she went into her audition for the role fully prepared and enthused, she just couldn't shake a mean sore throat and it cost her big time.

"I sang my little heart out," she said, "The jazz hands kid inside me was just over the moon!"

Ultimately, though, the laryngitis got her (ain't nobody got time for that). "I auditioned with laryngitis. I did everything I could to, like, not have laryngitis," she said.

So, is she trying to suggest her ailment was the only reason she isn't lighting up awards season right now or what? Whether she thinks so or not, with Hathaway in prime position to nab her first Supporting Actress Oscar win for the performance even ScarJo has to come down from her self-made pedestal admit Hathaway nailed it.

"I think, looking at the film now, there's no possible way I ever could have topped that performance. It was perfect and I think fateful and meant to be," she managed to admit. How, er, gracious of her.
