Sage Stallone, the son of Sylvester Stallone, was found dead on Friday afternoon. He was 36.
Los Angeles police were dispatched to investigate a death at a home on Mulholland Terrace around 2:15 p.m., according to Fox News. A Los Angeles County coroner's investigator says there were no signs of foul play.
"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son," publicist Michelle Bega said in a statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha." Stallone had been at the San Diego Comic-Con to promote "The Expendables 2."
George Braunstein, Sage Stallone's attorney for the past 15 years, said a housekeeper found his body. Friends had become concerned because they hadn't heard from Stallone in the past day, according to Braunstein.
Sage Moonblood Stallone was the oldest of Sylvester Stallone's children and the first of two sons that he had with his first wife, Sasha Czack. Sage starred with his father in "Rocky V" (1990) and "Daylight" (1996), was the director of the short film "Vic" and was the co-founder of Grindhouse Releasing, a company dedicated to preserving and promoting B-movies and exploitation films.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said prescription bottles were recovered in the investigation but could not say what kind or how many, or whether they had a role in Stallone's death.
"He was just very up and enthusiastic and positive," Braunstein said. "I think it was probably some sort of accident."
