Rachel McAdams is one cool lady, but her career is particularly white hot right now. She's just added another awesome project to her to-do list, the dramatic thriller "A Most Wanted Man." It promises to be a seriously cool spy drama, with Phillip Seymour Hoffman costarring and famed photographed and director Anton Corbijn behind the camera.
"A Most Wanted Man" is based on the novel by bestselling author John le Carre, whose other juicy novels have been turned into movies like "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" and "The Constant Gardener." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hoffman will be playing the top dog among German spies who's trying to ferret out the true identity of a man on the run who shows up in Hamburg. While McAdams' role isn't quite as clear yet, she's definitely wrapped up in the mystery.
"A Most Serious Man" will begin filming on location this fall, after McAdams makes "About Time," the rom-com from Richard Curtis announced last week. Meanwhile, she's got the drama "Passion" in the can and at Cannes; this remake of "Love Crime" by Brian De Palma features McAdams alongside Noomi Rapace as two businesswomen in a deadly (but sexy!) feud. She's also got the new Terrence Malick film "To the Wonder" under her belt; the movie has yet to land a US distributor but does have an R rating. Hey, at least we know Malick is done editing it!
McAdams has long been a favorite among female moviegoers for her smarts and her love-it-or-leave it cool (pink hair? Why not!), so we're glad to see her rise even higher as an actress in demand in Hollywood!
