So it's safe to say that today's news will likely send a shiver of dread down the spine of every true fan, as Variety is reporting that veteran actor Patrick St. Esprit has signed on to portray Thread in the upcoming adaptation of the sequel to "The Hunger Games," "Catching Fire."
From "Sons of Anarchy" to crushing anarchy in one easy step.
Of course, St. Esprit has plenty more on his long resume besides the hit TV series "Sons of Anarchy," having previously appeared in everything from "Super 8" and "Green Zone" to "Smokin' Aces" and "We Were Soldiers."
But as you can see, St. Esprit has made a career out of playing tough guys, military men and stone cold badasses. And that makes him the perfect choice for Thread, who (spoiler alert!) takes over as the Head Peacekeeper in District 12 at the beginning of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" and proceeds to make Katniss Everdeen's life a living hell, going so far as to have her boy toy Gale publicly flogged.
Bad times lurk ahead. And on behalf of all "Hunger Games" fans, we have to say: We can't wait.
