'The LEGO® Movie' Trailer: Will Ferrell, Charlie Day & More Assemble

Hey if a bunch of movies based on "The Transformers" toys can make over $2.6 billion, why wouldn't every toy we've ever played with try to have their way with our wallets at the box office?

In some of the most overt-product placement since the kids in the "90210" reboot drank all of that Dr. Pepper, "The LEGO® Movie" will arrive in theaters February 7, 2014. Written by the "21 Jump Street"/"Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, "'The LEGO® Movie" looks like it will have a plot similar to "The Muppets" and "Wreck-it Ralph" where we follow one hero in a cool world, this one filled with Legos.

Given that Warner Bros. owns DC Comics and its related heroes, it's no surprise that the likes of Batman and Superman show up in this brand new teaser trailer. There's a new poster, too:

The voice cast includes Will Ferrell, "Parks and Recreation" homeboys Chris Pratt and Nick Offerman, Charlie Day (who lent his voice to this month's "Monster's University"), "Mad Men"/"Community" super-babe Alison Brie, "30 Rock" veterans (among other accomplishments) Elizabeth Banks and Will Arnett, and two distinguished gentlemen who are of course no strangers to Batman: Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman (who hopefully can stay awake promoting this one).

Hopefully this full scale Lego T-800 Terminator gets a cameo.

Tongue-in-cheek or not, it may seem shrewd to stretch Lego toys into a movie, but hey, it worked for "G.I. Joe" (even if it didn't work for "Battleship").

Nevertheless, the unfurling of this teaser trailer caused at least one online movie reporter to declare: "Well, f--- me then. Can't wait for Lincoln Log: The Movie."

Anyway, speaking of product placement:
