A brand new trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" has arrived for all ye fine people of Middle Earth just in time for elevenses, and it looks like our boy Bilbo (Martin Freeman) is gonna be paying some pretty serious lip service to the man, er, dragon of the hour in movie two of trilogy two.
In the new preview, we finally get to see and hear a teeny bit of the titular fire-breather — while the last trailer was all dwarves in barrels and butterflies, which did make for loads of fun with LEGOs, it didn't include much of the actual Smaug — and now look who's talkin'. (Smaug. Smaug is talking.)
It's Benedict Cumberbatch himself as The Necromancer-slash-Smaug dragon, beckoning poor Bilbo to come hither into his gold pile for a little scorch session to reward him for his high praise for the beast ("Truly, the tales and songs all utterly short of your enormity, oh Smaug the stupendous").
The trailer also features a bit more from the elvish rivalry with the dwarves, a little maybe-maybe not spark action between Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and the beautiful but also kinda nay-saying Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly), Gandalf (Ian McKellen) being a G as always and, yes, even some dragon fire.
Oh ... and there went THE PRECIOUS! Always with The Precious. Honestly, gold's not even trendy anymore.
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," Peter Jackson's fifth go at J.R.R Tolkien's long-lived fantasy world, hits theaters on Dec. 13.
