Considering how tight Tony Stark and Bruce Banner were by the end of "Marvel's The Avengers," Iron Man can't be psyched about the Hulk hooking up with Pepper Potts.
Wait, right, Marvel superheroes aren't real. These are actors.
Mark Ruffalo returns to his indie roots in "Thanks for Sharing," starring opposite Gwyneth Paltrow as a pair of sex addicts trying to figure out how to have a normal relationship.
The new trailer hosted by Yahoo! Movies tells us that the average person thinks about sex 15 times per day, whereas the average sex addict thinks about it 15 times per hour. People in recovery often joke about the "13th step," which is dating someone else in recovery (particularly a newbie). Paltrow's character is trying to avoid the 13th step, according to the movie's online description, 'though this trailer shows her going for it pretty hard with innuendo and kissing on a park bench. (Btw, Pink is in the movie, too).
Sex addiction has made headlines ever since certain celebrities started using it as an explanation for their behavior. It's a somewhat controversial diagnosis, with many medical practitioners and recovery groups describing it as a very real disorder, whereas many folks in the public call "B.S." on it with or without the facts. Russell Brand, Charlie Sheen, Jesse James, Tiger Woods, the late Amy Winehouse, David Duchovny, Kanye West and of course Michael Douglas are among those who've copped to it at some point. Women aren't immune to it, either. Although this list of "10 Famous Female Sex Addicts" (which included Winehouse) is pretty dubious with its more well-known entries, paired alongside some C-list folks. (That's not a "Hep C" joke. Promise).
"Thanks for Sharing" (directorial debut of "The Kids Are Alright" writer Stuart Blumberg) premiered at last year's Toronto Film Festival. The comedy is due in theaters September 20, 2013.
