Generally speaking, when a franchise gets to its fourth installment, well, let's just say inspiration becomes pretty hard to find. You know, three movies is usually plenty of room to say everything that needs to be said. So how do the folks behind "Step Up 4" plan to keep things fresh? Two words: Miami. Beach.
And judging by the new trailer, it looks like the fourth time is the charm.
Of course, "Step Up" does have a little bit of an advantage over a lot of franchises in that they don't really have to worry about coming up with some crazy plot or innovative new dramatic arcs. No, what they need to do is have a bunch of really good looking people busting fresh dance moves all up in your face to the accompaniment of some banging beats. Characters learning about life through the redemptive power of dance? Sure, whatever; as long as it's hot.
And if there's one thing we know about Miami Beach it's that it's always hot down there, which may explain why the new trailer for "Step Up 4" is so darn steamy itself. Art gallery dance offs?
