Hey guys, remember that '80s classic "Weird Science," where a couple of computer nerds somehow create their ideal woman out of thin air? Well, replace Anthony Michael Hall with a nebbishy writer and hire the people behind "Little Miss Sunshine" to redo it as a quirky indie and you've just created your own perfect movie out of thin air.

Here's the deal: Titled "Ruby Sparks," the latest effort from directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris stars Paul Dano as a writer afflicted with the dread writer's block. One day, though, he is inspired to create a spunky new heroine (Zoe Kazan) named Ruby Sparks — who then magically appears inside his house. Oh, and she's his girlfriend.
So what happens when he discovers that he can control her thoughts and actions simply by writing new lines of his story? Check out the trailer, courtesy of Apple. And get ready for some truly weird science:
