Ah, summer in the city. It's a hot time, with the back of your neck very likely getting dirty and gritty. And since nobody does dirty, gritty, summer or city quite like auteur Spike Lee, you'll definitely want to check out the new trailer for Lee's latest joint, "Red Hook Summer."
Because, as always, Lee has a message and boy is he preaching it.
Literally, that is: "Red Hook Summer" tells the story of a sullen boy from Atlanta named Filk who gets shipped up to the Brooklyn neighborhood of Red Hook to spend the summer with his old school grandfather, who happens to be a gospel-spouting minister. It's pretty much the worst summer ever, until Filk meets a cool neighborhood girl named Chazz who shows him the ins and outs of the New York scene.
Oh, and there's also a giant twist not really hinted at in this trailer that had audiences beside themselves when "Red Hook Summer" debuted at Sundance earlier this year. Can you guess what it is based on the trailer?
