Rachel Weisz and Jude Law Head to the Bedroom in '360' Trailer

Magnolia

What do Rachel Weisz, Anthony Hopkins, Jude Law, Ben Foster, Jamel Debbouze, Moritz Bleibtreu all have in common? If the trailer for "360" (via iTunes) is anything to go on, they apparently all want to bone each other.

Screenwriter Peter Morgan ("The Queen," "Skyfall") was inspired by Arthur Schnitzler's classic 1897 play "La Ronde" ("Circle of Love"), later made into a film by Max Ophüls in 1950 and by Roger Vadim in 1964.

If you recall, Schnitzler's work also formed the basis for Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut," which should give you an idea of the sexual candor on display in this film.

Like "La Ronde," "360" revolves around men and women from all different social strata coming together for couplings. Each vignette explores the period either directly before or after the beast with two backs is formed, and delves into many facets of 21st century sexual politics and how a little nookie can break down boundaries between different classes of people.

The film is directed by Fernando Meirelles, who garnered Weisz an Oscar statue for "The Constant Gardener," and weaves these disparate characters in and out (get your head out of the gutter) of a narrative that spans Paris, London, Bratislava, Rio, Denver and Phoenix. Sounds nothing less than ambitious, and looks like a probing, deeply-felt relationship drama that arrives in theaters on August 3.
