"Everybody scream!" The first trailer for the One Direction movie is in!
The newest Ahhh!-worthy British invasion is all geared up to hit the big screen on Aug. 30 - helmed by "Super Size Me" director Morgan Spurlock in an, um, intriguing career move - and in just two days, the preview has gotten over 2 million views. So, there's an interest in this thing.
The English-Irish boy band, a five studded brain child of Simon Cowell and "X Factor," consists of the
jail bait foxy Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.
The film trailer promises a behind-the-scenes look at their time at the top, as 2012 was decidedly "The Year of One Direction," with a gentle reminder that these fellas are still little more than just boys since their mums still think of them as such (even though they've probably upgraded from those ruddy minivans as a result of their successes). Oh, and quirky hi jinks will ensue as they hit every continent known to man with their swoon. Whether Harry Styles' sack-romping with Taylor Swift'll make the cut, time will tell.
In recent years, concert movies have been relatively successful, with Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" ($73 million domestically) leading the Gen X pack of Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, the Jonas Brothers and "Glee," and One Direction's movie stands give them all a run for the money. The redcoats are coming!
