Scorsese Is the Next Spielberg in 'Hugo' Trailer

Do you want to have an adventure?

Martin Scorsese, director of such decidedly non-family-friendly flicks such as "Shutter Island" and "The Departed," tries his hand at his first children's tale with "Hugo," the film adaptation of Brian Selznick's novel, "The Invention of Hugo Cabret."

The first trailer features a bunch of stuff you never thought you'd see in a Scorsese movie: little scamps (Asa Butterfield and Chloe Moretz) running about, sprawling CGI sets and doggie reaction shots, to name but a few. Oh, and no sign of Leonardo DiCaprio!

This might be the most frantic-looking Scorsese movie ever made, and for those unfamiliar with the book, it's a little confusing as to just what in the heck is going on, though it seems to have something to do with "a wind-up figgeh," as Jude Law calls it, and fleeing from the wrath of Sacha Baron Cohen and his canine pal.

Besides Law ("The Aviator"), other spotted Scorsese alums include Ray Winstone ("The Departed") and Ben Kingsley ("Shutter Island"), though this looks to be Butterfield and Moretz's movie all the way. And Cohen's. And the dog's.

Check out Spielberg, er, Scorsese magic below, or watch it in HD at iTunes Movie Trailers. "Hugo" opens Nov. 23.
