James Cameron knows a thing or two about 3-D. And it's fair to say that the creator of "Avatar" also knows a thing or two about other worlds. But until this very moment we would have said that the circus was probably not an area of expertise.
Well, guess what?
Yes, it's the trailer for "Cirque du Soleil : Worlds Away 3D" — and it's presented by the ultimate movie ringmaster himself, James Cameron.
Mind you, Cameron didn't direct this bad Larry; that honor belongs to Andrew Adamson, with Cameron merely executive producing. But considering the trailer mixes the usual Cirque du Soleil pageantry and theatricality with an added dash of eyeball-exploding visual fantasy, it's safe to say that Cameron's fingerprints are all over this one.
Add in the fact that Cirque du Soliel has a long history of putting together both crowd-pleasing shows and movies (depending on how you count them, this is at least their ninth film) and it looks like what we've got here is the perfect union of artist and art.
