Chris Hemsworth Saves America In 'Red Dawn' Trailer

Lionsgate

You know those funny "before they were stars" videos that sometimes go viral thanks to surprising peeks at the lives of Hollywood A-listers back when they were nobodies years ago?

A new clip has just hit the internet showing Chris Hemsworth before he was a star, only this one is a little bit different — because it's the first trailer for "Red Dawn."

And even way back in the day, Hemsworth kicked ass.

For those of you who don't have really long memories, "Red Dawn," which is a remake of the classic 1984 film of the same name about foreign invaders taking over America, was actually filmed way back in 2009. But after MGM went bankrupt, the film ended up sitting in someone's closet for the past three years, gathering dust.

Now, of course, Hemsworth is a giant international superstar thanks to "Thor," "The Avengers" and "Snow White and the Huntsman," meaning "Red Dawn" has at last been taken out of mothballs for a November 21 release. And while Hemsworth does seem just a little wet behind the ears in this clip (his Aussie accent slips out a couple of times), for the most part it's pretty easy to tell even from this early work that the man was born to be a movie star.
