Yes, unlike the "Bridesmaids," the ladies of "Bachelorette" actually get to indulge in a little "ahhh, snort, grunt" (to sort-of quote Isla Fisher's character). But at what price?
"Bachelorette" stars Fisher, Kirsten Dunst and Lizzy Caplan as three BFFs who are called upon to be bridesmaids at the wedding of a girl they used to call "Pigface" (the always-hilarious Rebel Wilson) back in high school. Shenanigans and disasters ensue (don't they always?), including attending a get-together that Caplan's character describes as "Jane Austen on crack" and the unfortunate destruction of the wedding dress.
It looks like it's the cast that's going to sustain this one. Caplan continues to work her underplayed hipster angle to great effect, and it's nice to see Dunst having a little fun after plunging herself into the depths of Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia." And, for the Marvel fans out there who snicker at things like this, it looks like Mary Jane Watson (Dunst) might lock lips with Cyclops (James Marsden) once or twice.
