Nathan Fillion Going Godly for 'Percy Jackson' Sequel

We've always thought of TV's "Castle" hottie Nathan Fillion as a supreme being, and now he'll be giving godliness a real shot in the second "Percy Jackson" installment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fillion will be filling in taking over the former role of the equally-strong-jawed Dylan Neal as Hermes for "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters."

Hermes is the father of Jake Abel's Luke (Percy Jackson's primary rival in the story).

No word as to why Neal won't be back for the sequel, but not surprisingly, Logan Lerman will reprise his role as Percy, the demigod son of Poseidon, and co-stars Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson are returning as well.

Chris Columbus, who directed "Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief" will remain tethered to the series as a producer, but it'll be Thor Freudenthal ("Diary of a Wimpy Kid") who'll take the director's chair for "The Sea of Monsters."

Earlier this month, Missi Pyle, Yvette Nicole Brown and Mary Birdsong were added to the cast as the Three Fates. Gina Carano was rumored for the role of Circe for the picture, but she explained in January that the decision had not yet been made on that matter.

The anticipated release date for "The Sea of Monsters" is March 26, 2013.
