Spike Lee's American version of Park Chan-wook's gritty payback thriller, "Oldboy," has been busy lining up quite the impressive cast. Now, he's nabbed another rising star: "Red Hook Summer" lead Nate Parker.

In an interview with Parker about his upcoming indie, "Arbitrage" (in theaters Sept. 21), the actor confirmed the casting rumors to NextMovie, though he wouldn't comment on previous reports that he'll be playing a doctor who works with Elizabeth Olsen's character.

"['Oldboy'] is one of my favorite movies of all time," Parker told NextMovie exclusively. "It was heavy, it was dark, it was funny. So when Spike and I did 'Red Hook Summer,' he told me he was going to be doing it, and I was like, 'What, you're doing that?!' I had no idea. He then called me and asked me if I'd read the script and that was that."

Along with Parker and Olsen, "Old Boy" will star Josh Brolin, Sharlto Copley and Samuel L. Jackson. The film follows a man (Brolin) who only has five days to uncover why he was kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years.

Along with Sundance hits "Red Hook Summer" and "Arbitage," Parker has also received high marks this year for playing a Tuskegee airman in the George Lucas executive produced "Red Tails."

This news only gets us more excited for Spike’s rendition of this twisted tale.
