In this big bad world of ours, plenty of things are scary. War. Famine. Pestilence. Math. But it turns out that monsters actually aren't so scary after all, as Pixar's new release "Monsters University" easily won the box office this weekend with an impressive $82 million debut according to Film.com.
That was more than enough to beat out a strong challenge from Brad Pitt's new zombie epic "World War Z," which earned $66 million in its opening frame. And "Man of Steel" also held strong, bringing in $41.2 million in its second weekend of release.
For a full run down of the box office top ten, including figures for returning hits "Star Trek Into Darkness," 'Iron Man 3" and "Fast & Furious 6," head to Film.com.
