"You have no power here! Begone, before somebody drops a house on you."
Can you hear Michelle Williams saying that? Disney sure can, as they've just cast her as Glinda, the Good Witch in "Oz, the Great and Powerful," according to Showblitz.
The "Blue Valentine" star joins Rachel Weisz as Evanora and Mila Kunis as Theodora, making the film's coven of three witches complete.
It looks like Disney won the battle over who will be playing this role, as the studio has been wanting Williams for some time now while director Sam Raimi apparently was gunning for Hilary Swank, with whom he worked with on "The Gift." Raimi is notorious for putting his foot down and usually getting his way, but it looks like not even the director of the "Spider-Man" movies can stand up against the will of the Mouse.
[We have to admit that we're with Disney on this one.]
In "Oz, the Great and Powerful," Williams' Glinda will team up with James Franco's Oz to face off against the evil witch sisters played by Weisz and Kunis in a power struggle for control of the magical land of Oz.
The film will start shooting in Michigan in July and may drop into theaters as early as Fall 2012.
