A familiar face is returning to the world of hot cars and hotter women.
Michelle Rodriguez is set to reprise her role as Letty, the estranged (and, until now, missing) girlfriend of Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), in a movie that we like to refer to as "Fast Six," according to The Playlist.
Rodriguez first played Letty in the original 2001 film, "The Fast and the Furious," and reprised the role in the fourth film in the franchise, "Fast & Furious." She also appeared played the part in the short film, "Los Bandoleros," which served as a prelude to "Fast & Furious."
News of Letty's presence in "Fast Six" should come as no surprise to those who caught the bonus scene after the closing credits of last summer's "Fast Five," which hinted (okay, really hinted) at the return of Dom's ex-girlfriend. Early evidence seems to point to her playing an antagonistic kind of role in the new film, but we're sure there's a lot more to her seemingly villainous turn than meets the eye.
Michelle Rodriguez will be joining her old pals Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster for the sequel, which will also feature the return of Dwayne Johnson and probably most of the other lovable bandits who showed up in "Fast Five." New blood includes MMA champion and "Haywire" star Gina Carano, and rumor hath it that pop star Rhianna is up for a bad girl role. We shall see.
Okay, the movie's not going to be called "Fast Six," nor is it likely to be called "Fast & Furious 6." What are some title possibilities for this one? "Fast/Furious?" "Fast, Furious?" "The Fastest and the Most Furious?" "Faster and Furiouser?" It boggles the mind.
The sixth installment in the "Fast and the Furious" franchise (hey, that's got a ring to it!) will commence with production this summer and zoom into theaters on May 24, 2013.
