By now, we all know that Liam Neeson is replacing Mel Gibson as a Bangkok tattoo artist for a cameo in "The Hangover 2."
That, however, hasn't stopped the Mel Gibson situation to continue to escalate.
Gibson is apparently pissed that he got "fired" from "The Hangover 2." According to the New York Post, he saw this gig as the first step of a major Hollywood comeback following all the hullabaloo with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who claims Mel hit her in the face and broke two of her teeth -- while she was holding their infant daughter, at that.
Speaking of hitting girls, Mike Tyson has come forward and said that he wouldn't have had a problem working with Gibson on "The Hangover 2," unlike some of his co-stars (such as Zack Galifianakis, who has been credited with starting the mutiny that led to Gibson being fired).
"I work with anybody, as long as they're respectful," says Tyson. Huh.
Except that Gibson wasn't "fired," according to director Todd Phillips. People reports that the move to replace Gibson with Neeson was just business as usual.
"Someone was doing me a favor to come in for a two-minute cameo, and we changed it," Phillips says. "It wasn't like we fired somebody. [Gibson] was just doing a favor from the beginning."
We may never know the real story behind this madness. For now, we have only the wisdom of Mike Tyson to comfort us:
"We all have that guy -- a Mel Gibson -- in us. We just don't want people to be exposed to it."
