What would happen if The Plastics invaded Panem?
The various production photos and trailer screencaps from "The Hunger Games" have inspired some rather amusing parody captions throughout the 'net, but our favorite playful poke at the nation's still-biggest movie might be this blog that mashes up the dangerous future world of Katniss Everdeen with the equally dangerous halls of North Shore High School in "Mean Girls."
Surprisingly enough, some of the best and most memorable quotes from "Mean Girls" (and there are many) fit perfectly with some of the images from "The Hunger Games," as illustrated by the many examples on display at Mean Girls of Panem. We're sure "Mean Girls" screenwriter Tina Fey always planned it to be this way.
Maybe this mashup will by default make "Mean Girls" director Mark Waters a candidate to direct "Catching Fire?" He handled the frenetic fantasy action of "The Spiderwick Chronicles" rather well, after all. Hey, stranger things have come from stranger circumstances — I know, right?
