Luther Campbell to Spike Lee: Me So Angry

The controversy over Quentin Tarantino's slave revenge fantasy "Django Unchained" shows no signs of letting up, as former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell has just written a scathing denunciation of Spike Lee over Lee's scathing denunciation of Tarantino.

And the auteur behind the insightful thinkpiece "Me So Horny" has a message for lee: Me so angry.

Campbell, of course, is no stranger to controversy, having once been the target of obscenity charges over his 1989 album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be." And as a result, he has no problem at all with Tarantino getting nasty as well in "Django Unchained." But he does have a problem with Lee, who famously tweeted last month that he was boycotting "Django Unchained" because "American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them."

And that was enough to send Campbell completely off the rails.

"Screw Spike Lee," Campbell wrote in a new opinion piece for the Miami New Times. "Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained' is a brilliant flick that more accurately depicts the African American experience than any of the 15 movies about black culture Lee's directed in his lifetime."

"Lee needs to get over himself," Campbell continued, really working himself into a frenzy. "He's upset because Tarantino makes better movies. The man who put Malcolm X on the big screen is Hollywood's resident house negro; a bougie activist who wants to tell his fellow white auteurs how they can and can't depict African Americans."

"Lee could never pull off a movie like this. When he's not being an ass from his court side seats during New York Knicks games, he's making bull crap films that most African Americans cannot relate to," Campbell added, before dropping the ultimate bomb. "Spike is upset because Samuel L. Jackson's character in the movie is just like him: a conniving and scheming Uncle Tom."

Well, there goes 2 Live Crew's chances of making the "Oldboy" soundtrack.
