Liam Neeson Rides Into 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'

Liam Neeson may soon be adapting his particular set of skills to the Wild West.

The "Taken" star is in talks to get on the horse that is "A Million Ways to Die in the West," Seth MacFarlane's all-star follow-up to "Ted," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"A Million Ways" stars MacFarlane (who will also direct) as a cowardly sheep farmer who chickens out of a gunfight, an act of unmanliness that causes his ladylove (Amanda Seyfried) to ride into the sunset without him. He embarks on a quest to find his courage under the tutelage of a mysterious stranger (Charlize Theron) — and soon has a chance to test that courage when her revenge-seeking outlaw husband (Neeson) rides into town.

We've been highly amused these past several years watching Liam Neeson work out some sort of midlife crisis by starring in one "Neesploitation" action film after another, cheering with glee as he punched out every single person in France in "Taken" and took on angry Mother Nature herself (and some nasty wolves) in "The Grey." And we'll probably cheer at the sight of him wearing a cowboy hat and giving Seth MacFarlane a hard time.

MacFarlane's "Ted" pal Giovanni Ribisi also recently signed on for the film as the hero's best friend, a simple shoe repairman whose prostitute girlfriend has sex with everyone in town except him. Production on "A Million Ways to Die in the West" is set to commence in May.

Liam Neeson was most recently seen punching out everyone in some other country in "Taken 2" (and recently confirmed that there probably won't be a "Taken 3") and will be seen later this year punching out evil plane passengers in "Non-Stop."
