She's played a love-struck teen, a vampire mom and a fairytale heroine, but Kristen Stewart has is about to begin her freshest role yet: fashion muse.
The "Snow White and the Huntsman" star is trading her medieval armor for modern couture as the official face of Balenciaga's newest fragrance, Florabotanica, which hits shelves this September, Women's Wear Daily reports.
The pairing seems like a match made in heaven to us, as Stewart tends to typify the edgy elegance of the brand. Apparently, the fashion house's head designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, shares our sentiments. The designer first noticed Stewart in "Panic Room" and a photo shoot for "Interview" magazine that followed.
"I remember thinking, 'Wow, I would love to do something with her one day.' She's so Balenciaga," he said.
But what does Stewart think? "Even though, yes, it's an ad and we're selling a fragrance — I don't want to sound pretentious — but I want to be part of this art project," the 22-year-old actress said. "I want to be around Nicolas when he gets excited about fabric. I want to see the look on his face when he sees me put on a dress."
As for the actual fragrance, Stewart mused, "There is something natural about it … It's very alive. I think that as a young person wearing it — considering that I've never worn a scent — it kind of puts you on this level of, like, 'Whoa, check me out.'"
She also admitted, "I'm very lucky that I like the fragrance, because I would have done anything with [Nicolas Ghesquière], and I'm a terrible liar."
While we're not so sure we buy that last part, we're definitely gonna check this out. If there's anything that can make us look (or smell) more like K.Stew, you can count us in.
