And the Next 'Batman' Begins In 3... 2... 1...

Warner Bros.

Is it possible to get nostalgic for something that isn't actually over yet? That's the question facing fans of 'The Dark Knight Trilogy" today, as Batman on Film is reporting that Warner Bros. is already gearing up for a franchise reboot before "The Dark Knight Rises" is even out of theaters.

But hey, at least he'll be bringing the "Justice League" with him.

Of course, this is just the latest in a long, long line of industry rumors about "Justice League," so it may just be another fruitless run on Hollywood's never ending cosmic treadmill. But according to the report, Warner Bros. has decided to make "Justice League" their tentpole film for 2015 — and it will likely include new versions of Batman, Green Lantern and even Superman, with the idea of spinning them each out into their own new franchises.

That's particularly weird considering the new Superman film, Zach Snyder's "Man of Steel," doesn't even hit theaters until next year. But since Snyder swears that "Man of Steel" and star Henry Cavill have no connection to "Justice League," we may be looking at the first ever pre-emptive reboot.

Whether or not fans will embrace new versions of their old — and current — favorites so soon remains to be seen, but if this report is true, we won't have to wait long to find out. We're just not sure if that's a good thing or not.
