Dame Judi Dench and Sir Ian McKellan, Oscar nominees and officers of the Order of the British Empire, are embarking on a new cinematic endeavor, befitting their illustrious careers: McKellen and Dench (with Gillian Anderson and Arthur Weasley hisself Mark Williams) will star in "The Curse of the Buxom Strumpet," an adaptation of Matthew Butler's short film "E'gad, Zombies!" which is set in the fictional town of Upper Trollop.
Screen Daily reports out of Cannes that UK production company Fizz and Ginger is bringing us this tale of zombies (and presumably bosoms).
OMG, where do we start!!?? First there's the title. "The Curse of the Buxom Strumpet." We can't tell you just exactly how much we love the word "strumpet." Loads, really. and adding "buxom"...well, that just makes it a bajillion times better, doesn't it? And then there's the subject. Zombies!
According to Fizz and Ginger's site, McKellan has filmed his scenes (they have to work around his schedule on "The Hobbit"). Dench will next be seen in "My Week With Marilyn" alongside Kenneth Brannagh, Emma Watson and Michelle Williams as well as Bond 23, while Anderson is acting opposite Clive Owen in James Marsh's "Shadow Dancer" and the Rowan Atkinson comedy "Johnny English Reborn."
No word on whether the Zombies will be of the fast or slow variety.
