Jon Favreau may not be sitting in the director's chair for "Iron Man 3," but he will be sitting in a chair for it anyway, as the actor/director sent out a tweet yesterday confirming that he will be returning as Iron Man's right hand man Happy Hogan.
We're not sure if "Iron Man 3" is going to have a happy ending, but it certainly has had a Happy beginning.
Considering the fact that "Iron Man 3" has already begun filming, fans were getting a little bit worried that Favreau wasn't going to be in this one at all. And really, who could blame the guy; after all, as executive producer on pretty much every Marvel film these days, the "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2" director is a pretty busy dude. Heck, it probably takes him most of his morning just to count his residuals.
Now, though, he's back. And he's not the only old friend of star Robert Downey Jr. to join the cast; according to Variety, Downey's good pal Ashley Hamilton ("Dancing with the Stars") will likely be coming aboard as well in the role of Firepower, a cyborg engineered by the government. For those keeping track, that makes at least two government cyborgs in the film, as James Badge Dale is playing a dude named Coldblood. Hmm. We sense a theme.
All told, it's a bounty of riches for new director Shane Black. And as fans, that makes us very... wait for it... wait for it... Happy.
Welcome back, Jon.
