Sad news out of France today as Johnny Depp's publicist has confirmed that the internationally famous sex symbol has officially separated from his long time partner, Vanessa Paradis after 14 years together.
According to a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter, the two "have amicably separated." The statement concluded with a request to "respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children."
Shucks. We though this one was going to go this distance.
Depp, who prior to meeting Paradis had been involved in several high profile romances with the likes of Winona Ryder and Kate Moss, has largely avoided the Hollywood spotlight by living in France with Paradis and their two children, 13-year-old Lily-Rose and 9-year-old Jack. Depp and Paradis, who is well known in France as a singer and an actress, first met in 1998 while filming the movie "The Ninth Gate."
Just what led to the dissolution of one of the entertainment industry's longest lasting romances is unclear, though according to the report the split was "amicable." No doubt their busy schedules made for a complicated family life; Depp, 49, is currently filming next summer's hotly anticipated action film "The Lone Ranger," while the 39-year-old Paradis can next be seen in the French film "Cornouaille."
