In Hollywood there's a "go-to-guy" for everything. If you want a slovenly, foul-mouthed dude you get Jonah Hill or Danny McBride. Need someone to fight aliens, robots, or any other sci-fi menace? Will Smith is your man. But who do you go to if you need someone drop-kicked and then swore at in cockney?
That is what Jason Statham is for.
The man's man Brit is currently kicking ass and punching scrotum in "Killer Elite," and has been rumored to possibly take the lead in the fourth "Transformers" as well as returning in the next installment of "Expendables." Now, according to TwitchFilm, he may be doing his own stunts alongside fellow cueball Vin Diesel in the next "Fast and the Furious" flick … or is that two flicks?
Universal and director Justin Lin are eyeing Europe as the locale for shooting parts six AND seven back-to-back for their series that features muscle cars and muscled stars. They're entering preliminary negotiations with the continent's rowdiest badass, Senor Statham, to maybe crew up for both.
Statham makes all kinds of sense for the "Fast" franchise, especially given his penchant for stealing cars in "The Italian Job" and driving them even faster in the "Transporter" series. We just want to see him and Diesel rub their bald heads together for luck, just to hear the sound it makes … and then maybe punch each other.
