With oppressive record heatwaves crippling the nation, why not turn up the air conditioning this summer with "Ice Age: Continental Drift," the fourth installment (last time we counted) in the franchise.
This time love is in the air for Diego (Denis Leary) after he falls for Shira (Jennifer Lopez), a pirate and fellow feline. Along with Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and the rest of the gang, they evade the pirates on a floating mass of ice taking them to safe haven.
1. It's just like the Log Flume ride at Disneyland, except safer.
2. For a couple of sloths, Sid's parents certainly seem very energetic.
3. The rainbow of grease oozing off Granny's body into the water is an image we could have done without.
4. Diego's cool cat mystique is threatened by the "L" word.
5. With "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage as Captain Gutt, this gives new meaning to "A Song of Ice and Fire."
6. Is it just us or is this movie starting to resemble "Life of Pi"?
