Halle Berry may have her head in the clouds, but her feet are planted firmly on the ground – perhaps to her own detriment.
The actress, who has been shooting "Cloud Atlas" in Spain, broke her foot earlier today on the property where she has been staying during production.
TMZ reports that Berry was wheeled away from a nearby hospital in a cast, which will inevitably cause some problems in the film’s production because, let's face it: a Halle Berry movie without shots of her legs is downright criminal.
The movie, directed by Tom Tykwer and the Wachowskis, is based on the 2004 David Mitchell novel of the same name, and features a star-studded cast including Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, and Susan Sarandon.
While Berry is temporarily sidelined, scenes that don't star the actress will be shot, and, when possible, Berry will be shot from the waist up, or will use a stunt double.
Fortunately for fans, the rest of her body, and that whole Oscar-winning talent thing, are still very much intact.
"Cloud Atlas" is scheduled to hit theaters in Oct. 2012.
