When you receive an Oscar nomination for your first film, you don't lack for movie offers, and Hailee Steinfeld has had her fair share of intriguing roles to pick from.
She narrowly lost out on "The Hunger Games," but has quickly bounced back as the title role in Sleeping Beauty, and by possibly starring in one of the most iconic stories ever: "Romeo and Juliet." (Not a bad choice to follow up a classic Western story!)
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steinfeld is in talks to star in an indie production of "Romeo and Juliet." Naturally, she'd be Juliet. (You know the story, right? Two teenagers from rival families fall into star-crossed love? Yeah, we thought so.)
As of right now, she's the only talent attached, and the hunt is on for a Romeo so that filming can begin later this spring. What lucky young actor will get to swoon underneath her balcony?
"Romeo and Juliet" be directed by Italian director Carlo Carlie, and Oscar winner Julian Fellowes is writing the screenplay. It will be filmed in Italy, where Romeo and Juliet takes place, so it will be a very beautiful and authentic production.
