In order to become an MMA champion, you need to be both fast and furious. How well those particular skills translate to the big screen is another matter. Luckily for Gina Carano, however, she's found the perfect vehicle to turn her fighting abilities into acting gold — and that vehicle is probably going to be a souped up, barely street legal import.
Carano has just landed a role in the upcoming action film "Fast & Furious 6," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Now that gets our motors revving.
This isn't Carano's first go-round in movies, of course; earlier this year, she made the jump from athlete to actress by headlining Steven Soderbergh's gritty thriller "Haywire," a transition Carano spoke to us about in January. Now, though, she's taking on a much more high profile gig, as the last "Fast & Furious" movie, 2011's "Fast Five," earned more than $600 worldwide.
So what will Carano be doing in "Fast Six?" According to the report, Carano will be playing a member of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's crack squad of federal agents, who have been tasked with putting an end to Paul Walker and Vin Diesel's decade-long car-snatching joy ride.
That's going to be a tall order, of course, but if anybody can manage it, it's Carano. After all, she's about as fast and furious as they come.
