Per Deadline, part seven of the vroom-vroom-vroom franchise will be racing into theaters on July 11, 2014, he told CinemaCon goers on Tuesday. He also said that production will begin this August and that he and several members of the central cast — Paul Walker, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Tyrese Gibson — are all now a "Go" for the flick.
Meanwhile, "Fast 6" hits theaters on May 24 but is still in the post-production phase.
Movie six revolves around The Rock's Agent Hobbs offering a deal to Dom (Diesel), Brian (Walker) and the rest of the gang to clear their names in exchange for putting down a rival group, featuring Luke Evans and Jason Statham. No word yet on the direction part seven will take, but given the nostalgia of Vin Diesel's post — he used words like "I first embodied this character in 1999" and "the evolution continues" and "where it all started" — the series might just wind up being a septet ... maybe.
