While films like "United 93" and "World Trade Center" have attempted to tackle the tragedy of 9/11 head-on in a visceral way, Stephen Daldry's new drama "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" tries its hand at exploring the aftermath.

Oskar is a peculiar, borderline autistic kid who loses his dad Thomas (Tom Hanks) in the 2001 terrorist attacks, and as his mother (Sandra Bullock) grieves he takes a picaresque journey across New York City to find his dad's locked box, to which he has the key. Start the journey with him in these five clips from the film.

1. The Greatest Reconnaissance Mission. Tom Hanks then proceeded to make his own business cards listing himself as "Attorney, Astronaut, Army Captain, Prison Guard, Symbologist, Women's Baseball Manager ..."

2. How Come You Don’t Speak? Legendary Swede actor Max von Sydow takes his minimalist approach to new extremes.

3. My Dad Was in the Building. Viola Davis creates a magical Kodak moment for this little weirdo.

4. Was There Really a 6th Borough? There was, and it was known as Broonxhatten Island.

5. What’s He Looking For? Oskar uses a spy mirror to bootleg the latest Sandra Bullock movie on the set.
