Evan Rachel Wood has at least one thing to love about life: She's just snagged the lead role in "10 Things I Hate About Life."
Although the title will throw you into a fit of nostalgia recalling the classic 1999 film "10 Things I Hate About You" (Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Heath Ledger), Deadline reports that this upcoming project is not the sequel.
However, the dynamic duo that brought us the modern day adaptation of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," writer/director Gil Junger and producer Andrew Lazar, are teaming up again to bring us this Los Angeles-set romantic comedy.
The film will follow Wood's character as she plans to commit suicide, but meets a man with the same mission, putting at least a temporary hold on her demise. "Their chance meeting is so awkward, so raw, and so funny, they postpone their intentions and go their separate ways," said Junger.
"Captain America" star Hayley Atwell was originally linked to the leading role. There's no word yet on the suicidal gentleman's casting, but with production looming, our curiosity should be addressed soon.
With the bleak premise and no cast crossover (so far), we're inclined to believe the "no sequel" reports. But with this tried and true creative team at the helm, they had us at "10 Things."
