"Hunger Games" star Elizabeth Banks is extending her reach beyond the walls of Panem—and no, she's not running off into the forest (though that would be cool too). Banks has signed on to headline "What's the Matter with Margie."
Penned by Alan Ball ("American Beauty"), the dark comedy follows the story of a down-on-her-luck office-worker (Banks—presumably playing the titular character Margie) who, after years of being stepped on by colleagues and associates, finally snaps and resorts to murder as a solution to her problems.
Hmm. Well, we guess that's one approach, though maybe not the best.
According to Variety, "True Blood" and "Game of Thrones" director Daniel Minahan will helm this flick, which promises to mix some murderous drama with the torture of office politics.
Shooting is set to start early next year in sunny Los Angeles, but in the meantime you can see Banks yuck it up as a mommy-to-be in "What to Expect When You're Expecting," which is a decidedly less, umm, murderous role but has its merits just the same.
No word yet on whether the odds are ever in her favor after she commits homicide, but something tells us it's going to be entertaining to find out.
