'Dumb and Dumber To' Will Be (Somehow) Ickier than the First

Dumb & Dumber New Line

Oh boy are we in for it.

It's been almost 20 years since the Farrelly brothers cultivated a whole new meaning for the word "dumb" in their zany cross-country laugh riot "Dumb & Dumber" (yeah, twenty). And just in time for the big anniversary, Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey are both back in the fold — and those financing kinks have all been sorted out, too —  to finally make a sequel happen with "Dumb and Dumber To."

According to Jeff Daniels, ye Lloyd and Harry faithful who've doubts about whether "To" can deliver the laughs can rest easy knowing that the Farrelly tag team has cooked up something really, er, special for 'em.

While celebrating his Emmy win for "The Newsroom" Sunday night,  Daniels spoke up about his fears in returning to the stringy-haired dodo role and admitted it's the caliber of crazy that's got him a little nervous.

"The scariest thing?" he quipped to E! "There are some things that we're going to do in 'Dumb and Dumber To' that make the toilet scene seem lame."

You do remember what he's talking about, right?

"Pales in comparison, and I can't divulge what, but just that they've topped it," Daniels teased.

So, does that translate to "this sequel's gonna be even sh***ier than the original," then?

"Dumb and Dumber To," like the first installment, sees Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas teaming up for a road trip — this time, it's so that Harry can do a kidney exchange with the illegitimate kid he had with an old flame (Kathleen Turner). Somehow along the way, the two morons saddle up with a pretty twisted family where the stepmom (Laurie Holden) wants to murder her hubby (Steve Tom) and his kid (Rachel Melvin) and Harry manages to get on her little to-poison list as well. Oops!

Also, we know the two still can't read good ...

... and Lloyd has yet to find himself a cosmetic dentist.

Daniels said that the real upside to doing the long-overdue movie, apart from one-upping his big diarrhea moment of course, is that he "get[s] to work with a comedic genius" Jim Carrey. D'awwwwww.
